Printmaker

Charlotte, a master linocut printmaker, expertly employs reduction and multiblock linocut techniques to craft exquisite limited edition prints by hand.

The essence of Charlotte's art radiates through sumptuous textures and meticulous details. Every creation beckons observers into a realm where tranquillity emanates from both real and envisioned landscapes. Nature and mindfulness serve as wellsprings of inspiration, infusing Charlotte's pieces with a profound sense of connection and contemplation.

Earlier work explores themes of restriction and the implied position of the viewer, navigating boundaries, such as branches and objects obstructing the view or trapping the viewer. These works open questions about the presence and placement of the viewer, whether they are withdrawing or looking upon a scene. 

In 2024, noteworthy Open Call exhibitions included prestigious venues such as Ironbridge Fine Arts, Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair, Derby Print Open, Atelier by the Sea, and Southbank Printmakers. Among her recent accolades, Charlotte was awarded the St Cuthbert’s Mill award at the Derby Print Open, following her previous recognition, winning the public vote in the Southbank Printmakers 2022 mini print competition.

Charlotte is a member of East London Printmakers, People of Print, Islington Art Society and Barnet Guild of Artists where she holds the position of Printmaking tutor.
